Parent/Child Activities

• Color Me Healthy: A workshop designed to give parents ideas on how to get their children moving and eating healthier. Parents will interact with children at the end of the session. (Grades Pre-K to 3)

Nov 13 PTSU Meeting

Parent Session

• Math & Reading PSSA Prep Program (Grades 3-5)
  PSSA Preview-Help your child prepare for the State Assessment Testing.

Parent/Child Activities

• Gun Safety in the home (Fathers are encouraged to attend)
  Bubbles: Families explore the properties of bubbles through hands-on experiments including: playing with bubbles, bubble painting and making home-made bubble solution (Grades Pre-K to 3).

No Parent/Child Activities tonight. There will be child care.

 

Feb 12 PTSU Meeting

Parent/Child Activities

• Family Math: Workshops designed around a specific math topic (measurement, fractions, word problems, decimals). Parents get a brief review and then the children join in for fun and educational math. *Session 1 of 2

Mar 11 PTSU Meeting

Parent/Child Activities

• Family Budget: An introduction to the Family Focused Finances curriculum that Family Literacy uses with its parents.

May 13 PTSU Meeting

Parent Sessions

• Time Management: Parents and children can benefit from good time management practices. Parents would receive instruction followed by a family activity on time management.

Notes:

1. An announcement and RSVP will be sent home prior to each meeting.
2. The PTSU meetings will be held from 6:30-7:00. Parent and student sessions will be held from 7:00-8:00. Activity sessions will generally be 1 hour in length. Additional activities will be added based upon parent feedback.
