Ms. Liz McClintock
In 2001, I graduated from Penn State University - Fayette with an Associate's Degree in Architectural Engineering Technology. With this degree I entered the workforce and was part a team that designed and eventually built the HVAC systems in large buildings in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas. What I learned from this was how important math became to the designing and building process. I took many math classes throughout high school and college until I realized the real-life applications made math make sense. I then decided to go back to school and further my education helping students understand the reason for learning math.
When I was hired my MASD in 2014, I was given the opportunity to teach remediation classes and also accelerated learning classes. The students I teach are a wide variety of learning styles and abilities, and I enjoy it! I work with each of my students individually and help them to understand the different math concepts. I want every student that steps into my room to feel successful in math class by working hard and challenging themselves to reach their goals.
Now as I enter my seventh year teaching, I am looking forward to implementing technology into math through use of the Chromebooks. I want the students to have unlimited resources available at all times. I am also working to help the students to become more comfortable with using technology to learn in the classroom.
