Overview

Dr. Wayne Miller began his tenure as the Superintendent of Meyersdale Area Schools in August of 2026. Miller is a 1996 graduate of Meyersdale Area High School. In 2002, Dr. Miller had the opportunity to return to his alma mater to begin his career in education. He initially served the district as a secondary mathematics teacher for nine years. In 2010, Dr. Miller transitioned to the role of Middle School Head Teacher, a position he held until 2017 when he was named Middle School Principal. During his time at Meyersdale, Dr. Miller has also served the district as a varsity baseball and football coach for several years.

Dr. Miller obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Shippensburg University (2001) and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Frostburg State University (2009). More recently, he completed a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Frostburg State University (2020) and earned a Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from Point Park University (2022). Dr. Miller is grateful and excited for the opportunity to be an educational leader in his home district. He resides in Meyersdale with his wife, Ashley, son Ashton, and daughter, Everly.
