Overview

Dr. Karlie has served in the Meyersdale Area School District since 1988.  He began his career in the district as a mathematics teacher in the Junior-Senior High School. Dr. Karlie then became the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for four years.  In 2008, Dr. Karlie became the Superintendent of Schools for the Meyersdale Area School District. He also serves as the Federal Programs Coordinator, Transportation Coordinator, Safety Coordinator, Homeless and Foster Care Liaison.

Dr. Karlie obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education, Mathematics at University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Mathematics at Pennsylvania State University, a Masters Degree in Education Leadership at Frostburg State University, and a Doctorate in Education Leadership at Pennsylvania State University.
