    GUIDELINES FOR GRADUATION 2021

     

    1. General guidelines:

     

    1. Students must wear the gown provided by the school district.

     

    1. The gown, cap, and tassel are provided to you by the school district free of charge.

     

    1. Athletic Facility Graduation (outside): Tickets will be given to each senior for parents, guardians, and/or relatives for the Commencement program.  Guests must have a ticket to enter the facility.  Each senior will be allotted four (4) tickets.

     

    1. Auditorium Graduation (inside): Tickets will be given to each senior for parents, guardians, and/or relatives for the Commencement program.  Guests must have a ticket to enter the facility.  Each senior will be allotted two (2) tickets.

     

    1. Students are not required to participate in the graduation ceremony to receive their diploma. Diplomas for non-attending graduates will be issued in the high school office the first working day following graduation. 

     

    1. Students electing to participate in the graduation ceremony must attend all graduation practices. Your punctuality and cooperation are of utmost importance during these practice times.  Practice times are listed on accompanying schedule.

     

    1. All senior obligations must be paid in full prior to receiving a diploma.

     

    1. Graduation day – Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 7:30 PM

     

    1. At this time masks are required for graduates and guests.

     

    1. Seniors should report to the gymnasium by 6:15 PM to prepare for the processional.

     

    1. Please take advantage of the free graduation photo offered by Sines Studio. Photo packages are available at an additional cost. 

     

    1. Males are required to wear white shirts and long ties. Black or dark colored ties, shoes and socks are suggested.  (NO SHORTS & NO TENNIS SHOES)

     

    1. It is suggested for females to wear flat heel shoes of white or black, dress slacks are permitted. Remember, pending good weather, you will walk from the school to the athletic field.

     

    1. The long part of the cap should be turned back and the tassel worn over the left temple.

     

    1. No gum, no sunglasses, and no talking!

     

    1. Inappropriate conduct and/or gestures during graduation ceremony will be referred to the academic committee of the school board for evaluation.

     

    1. Seniors are expected to act with respect and dignity throughout the entire graduation ceremony. Failure to do so will result in withholding the diploma.

     

    1. Reminder: After the graduation ceremony all seniors should report to the field house or LGI to receive their diploma and awards.

     

    NOTE:  Anyone unable to provide the items required in the above directions should contact the high school principal or guidance counselor prior to graduation.  The high school principal has the authority to deny students the privilege of participating in the graduation ceremony if the above conditions listed on this page are not met.  Anyone not giving his or her full cooperation may be denied the privilege of participating in the commencement exercise.

  • Congratulations to Karlee Witherite and Lauren Kretchman who both did a phenomenal job representing Meyersdale at the 74th Maple Queen Contest Saturday evening. Karlee was named first runner-up and also earned the Maple Wisdom Award. Lauren was named second-runner up. Excellent job, Ladies!
