4th Grade Workplace Tours

Fourth grade students from Meyersdale Area Elementary School traveled to three local businesses on May 10 as part of a Career Readiness Program. Students learned more about the employment opportunities at Meyersdale Family Health Care, J&J Truck Bodies and Laurel Hill State Park. As the Pennsylvania Department of Education is focusing on making sure students are more prepared when they graduate, this trip allowed the students the opportunity to begin thinking about career paths and be better prepared to make decisions for their future.  The cost of this trip was covered entirely by a Career Readiness grant and J & J Truck Bodies provided lunch for the students. According to Mrs. Joey Emerick, Elementary School Counselor, this program was a great hit with the students and businesses alike!
