Class of 1959 wins Alumni Challenge

Since its inception in 2010, the Meyersdale Area Education Foundation (MAEF) has helped provide a myriad of educational opportunities for the students of the District. A 501(c)3 organization, the foundation was established to support programs for students.  Funding for this important organization is made through private donations, as well as Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) donations from qualified businesses.

To highlight the important work of this foundation and introduce MAHS alumni to its work, organizers created an “Alumni Challenge.” Through this “challenge,” alum celebrating a reunion are invited to make a donation to the MAEF. The class with the highest total of donations is then recognized at the annual Alumni Banquet and their year is then placed on a commemorative plaque in their honor.

This year, the winning class, raising the most for the MAEF was….the Class of 1959! These proud Red Raiders donated more than $380! These funds will go towards enhanced learning opportunities for students in all three levels of the Meyersdale Area School District.
