Three talented young ladies from the Meyersdale Area High School, Elizabeth Sayler, Sarah DiPasqaule and Lydia Renzi, sang the National Anthem during the February 29 during the dedication ceremony of the Harry Beal Bridge. Beal was the first man to volunteer for the newly created SEALs unit created by President John F. Kennedy in 1962. Sayler, DiPasquale and Renzi performed in front of more than 100 guests, including Beal’s family; U.S. Congressman John Joyce; PA State Senator Pat Stefano; PA State Representative Matthew Dowling; Somerset County Commissioners Pamela Tokar-Ickes and Gerald Walker, Meyersdale Mayor Michael Brant; and Thomas Prestash, District Executive for PennDOT District 9 (far right).
