Students selected for District Chorus

The following Meyersdale Area High School students have been selected to perform in the annual District Chorus Festival to be held in early 2021: Elizabeth Sayler, Regan Gindlesperger, Shelby Hetz, Laura Boyce, KeriAnn Beard and Ethan Simpkins (absent from the photo). The District 6 PMEA virtual choir festival will be on January 28th and 29th. Students will participate in Zoom sessions with Pulitzer Prize-winner, David Lang and Broadway Actress Laura Osnes. At the conclusion of the festival, students will record clips for a virtual choral production. The conductor for the festival will be Corey Everly, a Conemaugh Township graduate, who is obtaining his doctorate in music from Northwestern. These talented students participated in a video audition process in October and learned of their selection on November 3. They were asked to perform Edward Elgar’s Agnus Dei for the selection process.  Miss Labrina Ritchey, Choral Director, said this is the first year she has had six students selected for this honor. Details for the festival will be released at a future date.
