Fruit Sales were especially "sweet" this year

MEYERSDALE - Thanks to the continued support of the community, the annual Meyersdale FFA Citrus Sale was a huge hit!

Held each fall, this annual event is one of the chapter’s largest and most important fundraisers. Members accepted  orders for items from Pee Jay’s Fresh Fruit through November 11.  Items available included oraganges, grapefruit, clementines, as well as sampler boxes featuring a variety of fruits.

Orders were delivered to the school and sorted by staff members, including FFA Advisor Doreen Jamison.

“The chapter members sold well over 100 more boxes of fruit than last year.  The community was very supportive in this fundraiser,” she explained.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the chapter and its members and the many activities the group participates in each year.

“This is a very successful fundraiser for the Meyersdale FFA Chapter. I think it’s important, because the funds go to pay each members’ dues. They also help to pay for trips, or special events throughout the year. Fundraisers like this are important so we can make FFA an affordable club for any student who wants to join,” added Abby Shuck, Chapter President.
