FFA launches annual citrus sale

MEYERSDALE - The traditional FFA Citrus Sale has kicked off at Meyersdale Area School District. This annual fruit and cheesecake sale is a highly anticipated fundraiser for both sellers and buyers.

Customers have the option to purchase more than 20 different varieties, as well as a variety of cheesecakes. New this year is a Farmers Fresh Produce Box that includes an assortment of potatoes, onions, yams, carrots, celery stalks, squash and cabbage or broccoli. Each of the Farmers Fresh boxes will have 25 lbs. of vegetables. This sale is through  Pee Jay’s Fresh Fruit.

Orders are due November 11 and fruit will be delivered December 3. Proceeds benefit the many activities and programs of the Meyersdale FFA Chapter. Please see any FFA member to place your order.

“The community supports this fundraiser each year.  It has become a tradition of the FFA to sell fruit and there are people every year that call and place orders because they don't want to miss getting their fruit,” explained Doreen Jamison, FFA Advisor.

Funds raised go towards FFA activities including conferences, leadership workshops, community service events, banquets, etc.  It also helps to pay for all the FFA members dues for the year.
