September Remarkable Raiders
MEYERSDALE - Several Meyersdale Area Middle and High School students were named Remarkable Raiders for the month of September. Students in grades six through 12 were selected based on the merits of Academic Performance, Character, Behavior, Effort, Good Citizenship and Attendance. Remarkable Raiders are recognized at the monthly meetings of the Meyersdale School Board.
The following Meyersdale Middle School students have been named Remarkable Raiders for the Month of September: Alana Baker, Carter Vogt and Natalie Trowbridge. The following high school students were honored for their efforts: Bridgette Beal, Zoe Hetz, Collin Krause and Kylie Sipple.
Alana Baker, sixth grade, is the daughter of Erin and Stephen Baker. She enjoys riding horses, hunting, working with animals and jiu jitsu. Herfavorite classes are Science and Civics.
Carter Vogt, seventh grade, is the son of Sue and Rich Vogt. He is a member of the basketball, football and baseball teams. His favorite class is Math.
Natalie Trowbridge, an eighth grader, is the daughter of Shannon and Brandon Lepley; and Kristopher Trowbridge. She has three siblings, Mylie, Kaleb, and Kolton. She lives on a small farm with many animals, and she loves the country. In her freetime, she enjoys riding and grooming her horses. She attends dance classes and youth group. She is also a member of the basketball team, Walking Club and FFA. Her favorite subjects in school are math and science. Trowbridge hopes to one day become a livestock veterinarian.
Freshman Bridgette Beal, is the daughter of Meredith Hershberger and Travis Beal. Shs is active in 4-H and FFA and shows cows, pigs, goats and horses at the Somerset County Fair. Her favorite classes are Small Engines and Algebra. Following high school, Beal hopes to pursue a career in the welding field in the South.
Zoe Hetz, a sophomore, is the daughter of Misty and Josh Hetz. A college Preparatory student, Hetz is involved in FBLA and Yearbook. She is a member of the Lady Raider softball, volleyball and basketball teams. Her favorite class at MAHS is geometry with Mr. Sipple. Following graduation, Hetz plans to attend school at West Virginia University to pursue a career in the medical field.
Collin Krause, a junior, is the son of Jen Krause and Corey Christner. He is a member of the football team and loves sports. His hobbies include spending time with friends and playing and watching sports. Following high school, Krause plans to attend a four-year university to pursue a degree in safety management.
Kylie Sipple, a senior, is the daughter of Michael Sipple and Diane Sipple. She is a member of the Red Raider Cheer Squad, National Honor Society and Student Council. She is a member of the Chorus and plays in the Marching, Jazz and Concert Bands. She is a cast member for the school musical. Following high school, Sipple plans to attend New York University to study Dance and Psychology.
