MEYERSDALE - The transition from elementary to middle school is a significant milestone for students and to mark this auspicious occasion, a special ceremony honoring and celebrating fifth grade students was held on May 24.
The Fifth-Grade Graduation ceremony, organized by fifth grade teachers, Carrie Long, Melissa Leasock, Amanda McNelly and Beth Romesberg, was filled with pomp and circumstance in honor of these special boys and girls.
Tanner Ritchey and Colt Snyder provided the welcome for the guests in attendance. Fifth grade teachers presented a series of awards in the subjects of Reading, Language Arts, Social Studies and Math, as well as Character.
Abigail Homa and Ryder Reese were introduced as Salutatorians of their class, along with Leah Boyce, Class Valedictorian.
Following a presentation of diplomas from MAES Principal Devin Pritts, guests enjoyed a slideshow of students. In addition, Brooklyn Troutman and Addison Fisher performed a vocal solo of “Count on Me.”
Congratulations to these students and best of luck as they enter Meyersdale Middle School in the Fall.
