The Meyersdale Varsity Cheerleading squad is excited to host the 2023 Little Raider Cheer Camp on October 10 from 5 to 7 p.m.  All participants will then be invited to attend the 2023 Homecoming game where they will cheer for the Red Raiders as they face off against the Brownsville Falcons. 

Little Cheer camp is open to all students in Kindergarten through fifth grade and the cost is $25. Each participant will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt, pom-poms, cheer hair bow and snacks and drinks during both camp and their performance at the Homecoming game. The deadline to sign up for the 2023 Little Raider Cheer Camp is September 15. 

For the Tuesday, October 10 practice session, at the elementary gym, participants are asked to wear comfortable pants, shirts and tennis shoes. For the Homecoming performance, Little Raider Cheerleaders are asked to wear their “official” shirts with black leggings or jogging pants, tennis shoes and their cheer bows. The youngsters will be performing during the second quarter of the October 13th Homecoming game.

Varsity Cheer advisors, Mindy Pletcher and Karisa White said this event is one of the group’s favorites and they hope to see the track filled with Little Raider Cheerleaders showing their Raider spirit.

The theme for this year’s Little Cheer Camp is “Little and Loud.” 

“I feel this event is special to all the students to be a part of the game; part of a tradition that has been in place in the Meyersdale Area School district for a very long time and I hope this tradition continues for many more years to come,” explained Pletcher. “This event also brings a sense of unity to the school as we join together to cheer on the Red Raider Varsity football team.”
