The Meyersdale Varsity Cheerleading squad is thrilled to once again host the 2024 Little Raider Cheer Camp! This year’s camp will be held on Tuesday, September 17, from 3:15 to 5:30 p.m.  All participants will then be invited to attend the Varsity Football game on Friday, September 20.

This annual tradition is open to all students in pre-K through sixth grade and the cost is $25. Each participant will receive a t-shirt, pom-poms, cheer hair bow and snacks and drinks during both camp and their performance at the football game. The deadline to sign up for the 2024 Little Raider Cheer Camp is September 6.

For the Tuesday, September 17 practice session, at the elementary gym, participants are asked to wear comfortable pants, shirts and tennis shoes. For the football performance, Little Raider Cheerleaders are asked to wear their “official” shirts with black leggings or jogging pants, tennis shoes and their cheer bows. The youngsters will be performing during the second quarter of the game against the Tussey Mountain Titans.

Little Cheer Camp will begin at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17 in the Meyersdale elementary gym. Students will be dismissed from camp at 5:20 p.m. The pick-up will be in the Meyersdale Area Elementary School parking lot.

Varsity Cheer advisors, Karisa White and Chelsey Tressler, said this event is one of the group’s favorites, and they hope to see the track filled with Little Raider Cheerleaders showing their Raider spirit.

This year’s squad includes the following talented young ladies:Katie Schurg and Olivia Baker, Captains; and Grace Mazzaferro, Autumn Baker, Kelana Blubaugh, Nola Knopsnyder, Lexi Smiley, Leeanah Browne and Candice Murray.
