Important Information About Your Child’s Medications

It is that time of year when it seems students need medications during school hours. Please note our policy is in place to protect the health and well being of your child. When it is necessary for your child to take a prescription medication during school hours, a parent permission form must be completed and the doctor who prescribed the medication must also sign the form. Every Physician's office in the area has been given blank forms for this purpose. When you are given a prescription medication - remind the doctor that you need the form completed.

The medication must be brought to school in the original pharmaceutically-dispensed and properly labeled container. If you want to send an over-the-counter medication - please send that medication in the original container with a very specific parent note about when the medication needs to be given and the dosage. The nurse will not accept medications in baggies, or in unmarked bottles. Inhalers must also be in the original box. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and necessary for the safety of your child.
